The professions of tour guide and storyteller are a natural fit for Robert Edgerly. Robert was born in Savannah at the Telfair Infirmary for Women. He was brought up with the stories and legends of his native city. He has always enjoied stories and has carefully collected interesting yarns all of his life. For nearly two decades he has been preserving or relating Savannah's history.

For a while Robert left Savannah. He worked in the oil industry in New Orleans as a tow boat captain. In 1989 he returned to Savannah and launched the riverboat cruises on the Savannah River. He later worked at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum before founding SeeSavannah Walking Tours in 1997. The tours have been very well-received and Robert now also offers personalized private tours to individuals and groups of all sizes. Robert also ran a tour company in the Great Smoky Mountains for several years, spreading tales of that region's haunted hollows.

In addition to the tour business, Robert has found the time to put some of his stories in print. His book Savannah Hauntings, is now in its second printing. The comprehensive volume blends ghost stories with Savannah's history and is at once entertaining and educational. Quotes from Savannah history>>>
